The Home of Spock/McCoy Fiction
McCoy makes a deal with an advanced race of aliens visiting on the Enterprise, one that doesn't quite work out the way he expected. Nor the quite way aliens meant it to either.
This tale takes place after Kirk has been listed MIA and is presumed dead ("Generations"). It is a story of the mysteries of the heart, of loss and redemption, of the liberation of forgiveness and the sly humor of the universe. Spock and McCoy must come to terms with their grief, and with the changes Kirk's loss has brought to their relationship to one another.
Reflections of a great love.
Cadet McCoy believed Professor Spock was out to get him due to him always giving him such a hard time. To "get him off his ass" he asked his friend Nyota for help. "This is a hand gesture in Vulcan. It means that you aren't intimidated by him. This should get him to leave you alone." Too bad the gesture for that and to show sexual interest were strikingly similar.

Things get understandably awkward after Spock knocks up David on Genesis, but that doesn't explain why McCoy is so mad. David just wishes this miracle of life business doesn't interfer with getting together with Saavik.
